This winter, our Board of Directors developed a roadmap to expand the organization’s ability to increase and promote our mission. As the new Executive Director of Washington County Kids, on behalf of our Board, I am very pleased to introduce myself as the first completed milestone on this strategic plan journey.
Our mission to increase access to quality out of school time programs that equip Washington County children and youth for success is a very important one. We are working to increase children’s access to programs, parents’ options and education, providers’ visibility, and connections of families to providers. We believe after-school and summer programs help drive all youth to their full potential.
As a father of four children, I have watched first-hand the benefits of both after-school and summer programs. Diverse program offerings exist in our county and need our support to reach as many youths as possible. I am excited to combine my non-profit experience with an amazing group of volunteers to advance the WCK mission down the road.
We will share progress all along the way as plans develop and more achievements are made. Please know that we cannot do any of this work without our amazing volunteers, involved parents, donors, grant organizations, and of course expert providers. Please visit our website for more information and reach out any time to get involved!
I look forward to hearing from the WCK community and hope to meet as many volunteers, parents, and providers as possible.
